I’ve had several things published recently, including a reply in First Things(!) and an article at Mere Orthodoxy, and I also made my second appearance on a Christian radio program. I wanted to share those with all of you.
Reply in First Things
Several weeks ago, I read Oren Cass’s address “Constructing Conservatism” in First Things. I heartily agreed with his plea that religious conservatives make secular political arguments.
However, Michael Novak, Michael Hanby, and R.R. Reno all offered replies that pushed back in favor of explicitly religious arguments in the public square. As a natural theologian, I was provoked.
In these webpages, I wrote “Against First Things: Our political arguments should be secular,” and then sent a shortened version as a reply to First Things.
My reply was published in the December edition of First Things: LINK.
Radio Appearance
A subscriber to The Natural Theologian, Paul has invited me on for the second time to his guest-hosting of “Mornings with Carmen.” This time we riffed on my article “17 Secular Premises for Theological Arguments.”
Published in Mere Orthodoxy
Mere Orthodoxy recently published my article, originally for Substack, “Pro-Natalism After the Fall.”
Congrats man!
Doing great work, man!
